THE USUAL QUESTIONS

Good question.
Next one.

A quick guide to Pauper fantasy football and how its depth chart works.

What is Pauper?

Pauper is free fantasy football focused on NFL players who open the season behind a starter. You build a lineup from that eligible pool and follow how opportunity changes over the year.

Is this a Magic: The Gathering format?

No. Here, Pauper is a fantasy football format about depth-chart players. It is not a Magic format.

Is it free?

Yes. Pauper is free to play. Each manager has the same 100-point budget for waiver claims, and cannot buy more.

When can I play?

Leagues aren't open yet. Join the waitlist on the home page and we'll email you when they open. Questions? Email support@thepauperleague.com.

Who is eligible?

Eligibility comes from each NFL team’s opening depth chart. Qualified players remain eligible for the entire season, including after a promotion.

Do punters and special teams count?

Yes. Pauper has a punter slot and a separate team special-teams slot.

How do waivers work?

Each manager begins with the same 100-point waiver budget for free-agent claims. More budget cannot be purchased.

Do I need to know trading cards?

No. This is fantasy football. You follow NFL depth charts, set a lineup and make waiver claims.
